Position: Structural Steel Estimator
Location: Rockledge, FL
Duration: Full time
We are excited to announce an opening for a Structural Steel Estimator at our facility in Rockledge, Florida (32955). We are a leading structural steel fabricator seeking a dedicated and experienced estimator, with the potential to become a lead estimator. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in the structural steel industry and possess excellent computer skills. Attention to detail and a critical eye are essential for this role, which reports directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate directly with general contractors, owners, and architects.
- Identify material and equipment needs and costs based on drawings and specifications.
- Contact vendors and distributors to establish reasonable estimates for materials and supplies.
- Analyze, compare, and interpret detailed drawings.
- Operate steel estimating management software.
- Identify miscellaneous materials related to railings and stairs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Ability to read and understand all construction plans and drawings related to structural steel.
- Knowledge of Tekla PowerFab preferred, as we are transitioning from FabTrol.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) is required.
- Strong math skills and high attention to detail.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimating steel fabrication and erection.
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Professional and positive attitude.
- Must pass initial and random drug and alcohol testing.
- Must pass background checks.
- Degree preferred but not required.
