Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Land Surveyor to join our team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of survey plats and maps, including boundary surveys, as-built surveys, topographic surveys, and utility route surveys. These maps must meet the current VDOT survey requirements. Additional responsibilities include individual project management, courthouse research, construction staking calculations, and occasional fieldwork. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently to complete projects with demanding scopes and schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare survey plats and maps, including boundary, as-built, topographic, and utility route surveys.
- Ensure all maps meet current VDOT survey requirements.
- Manage individual projects from start to finish.
- Conduct courthouse research.
- Perform construction staking calculations.
- Participate in occasional fieldwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
- Licensed as a Land Surveyor in Florida or the ability to obtain a license (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in writing fee proposals and communicating with clients.
- Experience and knowledge of Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Microstation programs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively represent the company to clients, municipal agencies, and others.
