Overview :
Eagle Creek Lodge (ECL) is a corporate sport-fishing lodge on Stuart Island, BC, used by PACCAR and its guests for business entertainment. The objective of the lodge is to provide a quality sport fishing experience, with quality food and beverage and hospitality, in a beautifully maintained environment, for PACCAR hosts and their guests that furthers PACCAR's business objectives.
Position Description Summary :
To provide caretaking and general maintenance work for PACCAR's Eagle Creek Lodge facilities and systems, in collaboration with the Lodge Managers, and to support the Lodge Managers in their absence.
The Caretaker / Maintenance position reports directly to the Lodge Managers. This is a part-time to full-time, year-round position. The part-time position runs through the "off" season, September through April, where much of the caretaking relief work will occur. The full-time position runs from April through August when the busy guest season occurs, and the Caretaker will work closely with the Lodge Managers, with only some relief work. During the "off" season, only the 2 Lodge Managers and the Caretaker run the resort. During the guest season, the Lodge is run by a larger staff. Room and board will be provided.
Duties include the following :
- System maintenance (power, water, septic, etc.)
- Coordinating maintenance with contractors as required
- Groundskeeping (mowing, trimming, gardening, road maintenance, firewood, etc.)
- Building maintenance (painting, light carpentry, plumbing, heating, etc.)
- Vehicle maintenance (fueled and cleaned, light repairs, etc.)
- Communication with PACCAR head office in Lodge Managers' absence (via phones and computers)
- Skills and certification to drive lodge vehicles and boats.
- Basic first aid skills, either marine or Level 1
