Working in TFS allows chemists to perform hands-on work and interact directly with our clients. We specialize in servicing instrumentation such as GC, GC/MS, purge and trap samplers and concentrators, LC, LC/MS, and IC. While the instrumentation is complex, TFS has an extensive training program for new employees as well as ongoing training to continue building the capabilities of each service staff member. Our TFS Specialists have multifaceted skill sets including strong technical aptitude, great customer service, efficient problem resolution techniques, good documentation practices, and a solid understanding of laboratory regulatory requirements. Instrument Services Specialists (ISSs) are responsible for providing technical solutions and an advanced level of instrument support services to customers of TFS including external clients, laboratory operations within the Pace lab system, and departmental coworkers. Our ISSs also provide customers with a variety of support services associated with their analytical instrumentation including routine maintenance, operational and performance testing, hardware and software troubleshooting, instrument repair, and personnel training.
What you’ll do
- Instrument preventive maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, repair and performance testing
- Application software installation, configuration, and troubleshooting
- On-site and remote customer support
- Provide technical training on analytical systems
- Ensure regulatory compliance
- Maintain positive relationships with customers
What you’ll bring
- BS degree in chemistry or related science
- Experience working with chromatography systems such as GC, GCMS, Purge and Trap, HPLC/UHPLC
- Strong customer service skills
- Able to travel up to 25 percent
