Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our Quality Assurance team as a Senior Quality Assurance Specialist. This role involves implementing, administering, and overseeing quality policies and procedures for the Building Sciences - West laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage the quality system for the Building Sciences - West laboratories.
- Collaborate with laboratory management to implement and manage quality processes, results, audits, and improvement programs.
- Contribute to the achievement of team or work unit goals, objectives, and activities.
- Provide observations and recommendations to leadership for enhancing the organization's quality policies, procedures, and practices.
- Manage expectations of leaders, managers, staff, and operations, and facilitate communication on customer needs and business requirements.
- Train staff and management on quality policies, systems, and procedures.
- Compile, analyze, and monitor performance metrics and internal quality control and provide reports to Corporate Quality.
- Perform internal audits, coordinate participation in external accreditation programs and proficiency test programs, and report results.
- Oversee the Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) and the document management system.
- Effectively resolve escalated, technical, or sensitive quality issues by collaborating with internal teams or external agencies as necessary, ensuring successful resolutions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a closely related field; AND three (3) years of experience in quality; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Possesses a comprehensive understanding of quality systems, operational areas, and the development and implementation of quality programs, policies, and procedures.
- Understands the principles and practices of developing teams, motivating employees, and managing in a team environment.
- Proficient in preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials, with a strong command of business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
- Skilled in exercising initiative and independent judgment within established organizational and departmental guidelines.
