What is a PACE program?
The Program of all-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) is a unique health care model designed to help seniors (participants) stay safely in their home for as long as possible. PACE coordinates and provides or facilitates all medical care for its participants. Services are delivered across various settings, including on site at the PACE center, in the community, and in participant homes.

Transportation Driver Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
- Transports participants in a safe manner to and from the Center on each day they are scheduled to attend, in compliance with the MI Department of Motor Vehicle licensing regulations and local statutes.
- Provides physical assistance to each participant when needed as he/she boards and disembarks from the program’s vehicles.
- Maintains the first aid kit in the vehicle, replacing supplies as they are used or become outdated.
- Ensures that all passengers wear safety belts and wheelchairs are locked into position.
- Ensures and/or assists the participant with take home supplies.
- Ensures all drivers have met the PACE Central Michigan competency standard.
- Provide escort as needed for outside appointments.
- Maintain vehicle in neat and clean condition anticipating needed mechanical service so appointments can be arranged that are convenient to program operations.
- Immediately reports any vehicle operating problems, malfunctions, or incidents out of the ordinary routine to the transportation supervisor.
- Will observe and report changes in participant’s emotional, behavioral, and physical condition to appropriate disciplines and/or supervisor.
- Must care, support, and collaborate with everyone involved in the participant’s care including staff and the participant’s family using the participant centered care model.
- Participates in required staff meetings and trainings.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Most possess a Michigan Chauffer’s Driver’s License.
- CPR and First Aid certification or be willing to obtain upon hire.
