Description
This position works with employer representatives to match people with disabilities with employment opportunities. This requires job development activities and ongoing placement review.
QUALIFICATIONS
●College training and a desire to work in a mission-based non-profit organization preferred, training in a human services field of study a plus
●Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
●Demonstrated skills in critical thinking, judgement, and decision making
●Must possess excellent communication skills, oral and written
●Experience using computer applications, experience using a web-based application preferred
●Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as needed
●Able to pass a Criminal Background Check
●Must be able to participate and pass trainings to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR and MANDT training
●A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance, and must be willing to transport clients to job sites, community activities and appointments
RESPONSIBILITIES
●Work with referral agencies and guardians to determine if the candidate is suited for training and employment services to be provided through a partnering employer
●Contact employers to identified job opportunities, determine their requirements and negotiate adaptations
●Establish and maintain cooperative business partnerships with potential employers and representatives of the community and maintain them over time
●Promote the skills and abilities of workers with disabilities
●Point of Contact for business partners when issues arise
●Handle DRS billing pre-authorizations and submit billing information to accounting
●Monitor clients’ progress to ensure that training and employment goals and objectives are met
●Develop training plans that fit clients’ aptitudes, education levels, physical abilities, and career goals
●Locate barriers to client employment such as inaccessible work sites, inflexible schedules and transportation problems, and work with clients to develop strategies for overcoming these barriers
●Dress to project professionalism
●Provide transportation services for clients utilizing Agency and/or personal vehicle and follow the guidelines as outlined in the transportation manual

Work environment: This position involves moving with clients, sitting for periods of time, and occasionally driving to other work locations. The employee may be exposed to weather conditions and noise.
