What are the responsibilities and job description for the Job Coach/Skills Developer position at PACE Enterprises?
A person in this position provides specific vocational skill training to individuals with disabilities in accordance with the IDD Waiver program, and various Work Adjustment Training Programs as defined by the Department of Rehabilitation Services. As a staff member of the business unit, this person works closely with the supervisor to ensure the completion of work, regularly performing the tasks individually as well as working with a training program participant to perform the work.
QUALIFICATIONS
- GED/H.S diploma preferred. College training and a desire to work in a mission-based non-profit organization preferred, Training in a human services field of study a plus
- Experience in the designated program area such as food service or janitorial services
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred
- Demonstrated ability to prepare clear and descriptive written documentation
- Demonstrated ability to give clear instructions in an encouraging tone
- Experience using computer applications, experience using a web-based application preferred
- Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule as needed
- Able to pass a Criminal Background Check
- Must be able to participate and pass trainings to include but not limited to First Aid, CPR and Mandt training
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs assigned work duties and training preparation duties in addition to the trainer role
- Implements and follows systematic training according to program plan requirements (i.e. habilitation plans, program plans)
- Train individuals on specific work requirements according to the employment program placement
- Conducts on-going assessment of the client’s work skills against the demands of the work site
- Perform supervisor responsibilities for a specific area of work
- Completes all necessary data entry and paperwork within the time frame required
- Relates problems, concerns, program ideas, or other items of interest in a timely manner to vocational training staff Participates in periodic staff training
- May attend IDT meetings to provide input as to the client’s performance
- Advocates with employers and the community to shape a positive image of persons with disabilities
- Dress to project professionalism
