Job Summary
This full time Accounting Clerk is an entry-level administrative role position that is to fulfill the organizations need for financial services, by maintaining financial records by recording transactions, processing invoices, managing customer accounts, and generating reports, providing support to the accounting department by ensuring accurate data entry and assisting with various accounting tasks under the supervision of the Financial Director; requiring strong attention to detail and proficiency with accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Data Entry: Recording financial transactions into accounting software, including sales, purchases, payments, claims and receipts.
- Invoice Processing: Reviewing and verifying invoices and claims, matching them to purchase orders/authorizations/ receipts, and coding then to the proper accounting codes.
- Generating reports: Preparing various financial reports such as vendor payments, participant statements, collections and aging reports.
- Filing and record keeping: Maintaining organized financial documents and records.
- Customer account management: Handling participant inquiries regarding invoices and payments.
- Compliance with regulations: Adhering to company and government accounting standards.
- Only acts within the scope of his or her authority to practice.
- Demonstrates familiarity with policies of PACE@Home; understands and adheres to rules, regulations and standards of regulatory bodies, QAPI program and applicable licensing agencies.
- Complies in a timely manner with all mandatory in -service requirements of PACE@Home.
- Accepts other assignments as appropriate.
Experience
- Two to three years experience4 in related activities preferred. One year experience working with the elderly population. Must be capable of performing job responsibilities. Must maintain CPR and First Aid certification.
- Proficiency in accounting software: Microsoft Excel, Quick Books, Knowledge of an Electronic Medical Record system.
- Strong attention to detail. Accuracy is crucial when handling financial data.
- Numerical skills: Ability to perform calculations quickly and accurately.
- Data Entry skills: Efficient typing and data input abilities.
- Organizational skills: keeping track of documents and maintaining a well-organized system.
- Basic accounting knowledge: Understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Communication skills: Ability to interact with colleagues and customers regarding financial information.
