Production Scheduler
As a Production Scheduler, you will be the central point of contact for all production planning activities within the plant. This crucial role requires a comprehensive understanding of the entire product lifecycle, encompassing both internal and external processing. You will be responsible for maintaining the real-time status of all parts within our system, proactively making necessary adjustments to address both anticipated and unforeseen circumstances, including changes in customer orders, machine breakdowns, and quality concerns. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, capable of swiftly transitioning between tasks, and possess exceptional real-time awareness of all production activities.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (Including but not limited to):
Coordinate the creation and scheduling of shop orders to fulfill customer orders and maintain minimum stocking requirements.
Process orders in accordance with established Customer Service Procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Verify the completion of shop orders.
Accurately code late shipments and generate on-time delivery reports.
Monitor order forecasts, plan production requirements, and collaborate with plant management teams to review labor and asset needs. Assist in the planning and implementation of necessary changes.
Verify the accurate entry of hours and minutes in the timekeeping system.
Manage the production scheduling of secondary operations.
Proactively communicate with customers/contractors to provide feedback or address inquiries regarding order fluctuations, expected delivery timelines, or other plant-related concerns.
Actively participate in improvement projects.
Adhere to all safety rules and policies as mandated by OSHA guidelines and Company policies and procedures outlined in the employee manual.
Comply with the requirements of the Quality Policy, ISO/TS system, and related procedures, and actively participate in the Continuous Quality process.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions.
Strictly follow all safety rules and policies set forth by OSHA guidelines and the Company, including the consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Perform other associated duties, functions, or tasks as needed or assigned to ensure the continued productive operation of the company.
Fundamental Candidate Characteristics and Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; Associate’s degree strongly preferred.
- Strong communication, self-motivation, and self-starter skills, with the proven ability to effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively take directions from peers and key stakeholders without direct reporting lines.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to automate functionality within Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
- Understanding of timekeeping Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems or similar ERP applications.
- Proven ability to build credibility and trust.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
- Experience and proficiency in extracting and manipulating data from various databases.
- Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
- Ability to function effectively as a team player and confidently lead meetings without direct authority.
- Some experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio).
