- Interview and select prospective painters and powder coaters.
- Supervise painters and powder coaters; evaluate quantity, quality, cost and general attitudes.
- Guide and direct painters regarding solvent selection, reducer selection, mix ratio, color match, texture, application techniques, viscosity, thickness, and gloss.
- Oversee general painting operations including filter selection, filter life, housekeeping, and safety.
- Diagnose the causes of painting and powder coating problems and take corrective action.
- Monitor the handling of hazardous waste, waste ink, dirty solvent, and spills.
- Direct the issuance of paint, powder, and solvents from the paint vault. Supervise the material handlers.
- Continually police operating techniques to insure compliance with safety standards.
