Summary
The role of the EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Coordinator is responsible for identifying applicable EHS regulations and risks while interacting with Operations, HR, Accounting, Sales, and Corporate Health & Safety to implement acceptable systems to ensure compliance and conformance to EHS Policies and Management Systems and programs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
(but not limited to…)
- Formulates and trains employees in general EHS policies and procedures to be followed in compliance with local, state, and federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Communicate, and document regulatory requirements and compliance to various levels of the organization from shop floor associates to top level leadership.
- Collaborates with internal and external groups regarding process changes impacting EHS.
- Maintain facility EHS performance records and reports performance to site management.
- Provide coaching and technical support to facility management teams.
- Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries.
- Conduct EHS inspections, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate EHS committee meetings.
- Work with other departments to identify and correct EHS findings.
- Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications
- 4-year college degree or 2 years related experience and/or training, and 12 to 18 months related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of known variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.
- Considerable responsibility regarding general assignments in planning time, method, manner, and/or sequence of performance of own work; may also occasionally assist in the planning of work assignments performed by others within a limited area of operation.
- Performs work operations which permit frequent opportunity for decision-making of minor importance and frequent opportunity for decision-making of major importance, either of which would affect the work operations of small organizational component and the organization's clientele.
