Join the dynamic team at Pace Industries, as the Plant Manager for our Harrison, Arkansas location. We are seeking an innovative and collaborative leader with a proven track record of leading and managing the entire die casting plant operation including production, materials management, quality control, shipping and receiving, maintenance and manufacturing engineering. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key customers; ensuring operations meet established objectives including but not limited to safety, quality, delivery and cost; and developing their bench strength throughout all levels of the entire production operation. The role reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide deep expertise in aluminum die cast products industry and marketplace with knowledge of ongoing market trends, opportunities and continuous improvement.
- Provide the leadership and direction to ensure the financial success of your plant.
- Lead the short- and long-term plant strategies by anticipating requirements, trends, and variances, developing action plans, measuring and analyzing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and promptly address concerns and issues to maintain long-term relationships and repeat business.
- Plan operational needs by evaluating sales and delivering information, identifying short-term and long-term issues, identifying and evaluating options, and choosing a course of action.
- Maximize die casting plant production by developing production schedules, organizing change-overs, and developing and scheduling preventative maintenance.
- Improve die casting quality production results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes and implementing changes.
- Set clear performance expectations across a multi-disciplined salaried and hourly staff.
- Ensure plant staffing levels meet the budgeted financial performance and appropriate productivity levels of plant operations.
- Lead, coach and mentor the plant leadership team and provide them with the skills to lead, coach and mentor their direct reports.
- Motivate employees to meet performance objectives, develop high potential employees for subsequent roles, and or succession planning within the plant.
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy plant environment by adhering to Pace’s standards, policies, and legal regulations.
- Foster a collaborative and results-oriented culture.
- Apply Lean tools and methodologies.
Qualifications
- 10 years of progressive operational responsibility and team leadership experience in the aluminum die cast industry.
- 5 years or greater responsibility operating as a Plant Manager or 7 years as an Operations Manager for a large plant, preferably in the die-casting industry.
- Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Business Management, Manufacturing or related field; Masters/MBA degree a plus.
- Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, requirements, and competing demands in a deadline driven environment.
- Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, negotiation, analytical, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
- Effectively and consistently carry out all responsibilities in a fair and respectful manner and in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Ability to build credibility and trust, while influencing leaders and customers.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to travel as required to meet with customers, partners, and the sales team.
