Job Summary:
The Human Resources Specialist supports PACE of the Triad’s mission, vision and values for the purposes of Human Resources functions including recruitment and selection, onboarding, HR record keeping, and benefits enrollment. The HR Specialist will also provide administrative support such as sending alerts for Relias, Competency, and special training sessions specifically designed for PACE team members.
Education and Experience:
- Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- At least two years of human resources and/or administrative experience required.
- HR or SHRM certification preferred.

Employment & Recruitment
- Use appropriate recruitment and selection protocols for each open position and is responsible for marketing PACE as an employer of choice providing comprehensive care services to enhance the life and autonomy of older adults.
- Adheres to hiring strategies consistent with lawful hiring practices.
- Participates in employment interviews when deemed appropriate and when specifically requested.
- Ensures that reference checks on potential employees are sufficient.
- Conducts required background checks and verifies all pre-employment requirements are completed.
- Conducts exit interviews and effectively conveys information to the Executive Director and Site Director.
HR Orientation and Record Keeping
- Provides thorough HR orientation and on-boarding for new employees and volunteers.
- Seek ways to improve agency-wide orientation, while maintaining current processes and requirements.
- Assists OSDM with tracking training requests, required training and verifying licensees and credentials.
- Send notifications to team members and supervisors regarding annual performance reviews.
- Ensures performance evaluations are submitted in a timely manner and meets stated guidelines.
- Maintains personnel files and records in accordance with PACE policies and procedures and does so in a confidential and secure manner.
- Maintains accurate and sufficient job descriptions.
Benefit Administration
- Act as a primary support with PACE Benefits Administration.
- Use sound discretion in linking employees to proper resources such as EAP.
- Assists with insurance benefits enrollment for newly hired team members, as well as annual re-enrollments and status changes. Ensure that invoices from benefit providers are in accordance with current enrollment.
- Assists with preparing the necessary paperwork for unemployment claims. Protects PACE by using proper discretion when determining an approach to a claim.
- Ensures necessary separation documentation is prepared and communicated in person or via USPS mail.
Demonstrates knowledge of and supports PACE mission, vision, values, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
