Human Resources Business Partner (Benefits and Leave)

We are seeking a skilled Human Resources Business Partner to join our client, a local housing nonprofit, for a 3-month assignment. The primary focus of this role is Benefits and Leave Administration, with additional responsibilities in HR compliance, HRIS management, and supporting a union environment. If you excel in problem-solving, data analytics, and organizational skills, this Seattle-based, hybrid position is worth taking a look at!

What You’ll be Doing…

·        Benefits & Leave Administration: Manage benefits programs (401(k), health plans, COBRA, wellness), ensure compliance with ACA and other regulations, and support enrollment and audits. Oversee leave processes (FMLA, PFML, Workers' Compensation, accommodations), providing guidance to employees and managers while ensuring accurate tracking and payroll coordination.

·        HR Systems & Compliance: Maintain HRIS data integrity in Paycom, generate reports, and troubleshoot technical issues. Prepare and submit compliance reports (EEO-1, ACA, 5500) while adhering to employment laws and union agreements.

·        Policy & Labor Relations: Provide guidance on HR policies, union contracts, and employee relations, fostering positive outcomes using trauma-informed care principles. Support labor-management meetings and union negotiations as needed.

 

Here’s what your work history needs to show as evidence that you’re the right candidate…

  • Five years of experience in Benefits, Leave, or Total Rewards (union or nonprofit environment preferred).
  • Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems (Paycom preferred).
  • Advanced Excel and Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Demonstration knowledge and application of employment laws and benefits-related regulations.
  • Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

 

Here’s the important details:

·        Location: Seattle, WA (Hybrid – Onsite 2 days/week at 2 Seattle locations)

·        Pay Rate: $37-$47 per hour

·        Assignment Duration: 3 Months

·        Schedule: Monday to Friday

·        Compliance: You must be able to pass a criminal background check.

·        Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. PHR or SPHR certification preferred but not required.
