Are you detail-oriented and passionate about maintaining accurate and organized medical records? We’re hiring a Medical Records Clerk to join our client in Olympia, WA! This role plays a vital part in supporting patient care by ensuring records are accurately documented, securely stored, and efficiently managed within the Health Information Management (HIM) Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
What You’ll be Doing…
· Manage electronic medical records (EMR), ensuring accuracy and completeness
· File, scan, and maintain records according to HIPAA, PHI retention guidelines, and documentation requirements
· Process Release of Information (ROI) requests in compliance with state and federal regulations
· Ensure timely documentation of all medical record activities within the EMR system
· Track and follow up on missing records, transcription, and dictation
· Maintain patient confidentiality and safeguard sensitive information
· Assist with department workflow to ensure smooth record management operations
· Participate in department meetings, training programs, and process improvement initiatives
Here’s what your work history needs to show as evidence that you’re the right candidate…
- 1 year of experience in a medical setting, preferably within a busy physician group practice or medical office
- Demonstrated fluency in English to effectively perform essential job functions
- Strong understanding of medical records management and compliance
- Completion of coursework in ICD-9-CM, CPT coding, or Medical Terminology
Here’s the important details:
· Location: Olympia, WA
· Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
· Pay Rate: $22 to $24 per hour
· Assignment Duration: 13 weeks
· Compliance: You must be able to pass a criminal background check, provide up to date immunization records, and a recent health screening.
