What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mobile Technician position at Pace Transportation Services?
Who We Are:
Pace Transportation Services is a leading heavy-duty truck and trailer dealership. Pace is a multi-location, full-service dealership that specializes in semi van and reefer trailers. We are currently seeking a Mobile Technician for immediate hire at our Toledo branch. This position will involve traveling (locally!) to customer facilities for service and maintenance work on trailers. Position may require one week per month of after-hours/on-call work.

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Evaluate and diagnose mechanical problems
- Examine parts for damage or excessive wear
- Travel (locally) to worksites to repair or replace damaged or worn heavy-duty equipment
- Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and tools
- Test equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance
Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED – Required
- 2-5 years’ experience with heavy duty equipment repair – Preferred
- Completion of a vocational or other post-secondary training program – Preferred
- Trailer body and/or Welding and Fabrication experience – Preferred
- Having your own hand tools is a plus, but not all required (larger equipment/tools will be supplied by Company).
- Ability to operate heavy duty equipment
- Time management
- Self-starter with a great attitude
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to obtain a Medical DOT Card (company paid)
