What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Development Engineer position at Pacer Group?
The Project Development Engineer position requires 5 Years Experience in working for an Energy Services Company (ESCO) with K-12 experience or related experience. An accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering is preferred. This position will oversee preparation of project scope, energy analysis, engineering design documents and bidding energy services projects.
This position will involve the following key activities:
• Develop strong relationships and communicate effectively with customers, Client’s Account Managers, and Business partners
• Assist Client's Account Managers in the screening and qualifications of energy services opportunities within the Client’s service territory
• Develop, sell, lead, and manage energy related projects which add value to both our customers and Company, including scope of work, energy calculations, etc.
• Lead all preliminary and detailed engineering assessments through collaboration of selected engineering firms
• Lead all proposal development efforts for assigned energy services projects
• Coordinate with external vendors, manufacturers, and contractors, as well as Client's Customer Account Managers during proposal development process • Participate in various customer meetings and presentations
• Responsible for subcontractor / vendor qualification, negotiation, and management during project development phase
• Lead all scope and cost estimate development efforts for assigned energy services projects
• Collaborate with Client's Company Supply Chain Management group in discussions with suppliers and manufacturers during pricing and contracting process • Perform contractor/bid evaluations for selected projects
• Provide input to Client's Company legal group during contract development process
• Provide oversight and guidance of all engineering and construction staff during the implementation phase of the project
• Responsible for developing project schedules and cost projection forecasts for all assigned projects.
• Track project expense and revenue for accounting and billing purposes
• Provide oversight and guidance during project closeout process
• Develop and provide technical training as necessary Skills required include working knowledge of C&I mechanical and electrical systems, including lighting, boilers, chillers, motors, drives and HVAC equipment.
• Experience in sales, project development, or knowledge of project management tools. Ability to work well as part of a team, good communication skills, and the ability to build effective relationships.
