PRODUCTION WORKER

Full time position - 7:00 am to 3:30, sometimes 5:00 am to 5:00, overtime available

Pacer has been in business 45 years. It makes large grinding wheels for the steel industry. It also converts solid natural rubber from Indonesia into liquid (DPR) which it sells to tire and other companies. The nearly 50,000 sq ft building is bright and new. It is located on a 23-acre, semi-rural property two miles west of Coatesville toward Parkesburg. The company is growing and an additional employee is needed to help with liquid rubber production. Prior experience is not required. We will train for any jobs to be performed.

Job Description:

• Arrive 5:00 AM when making DPR. Some weeks it is made three days and others, not made
• Turn on certain instruments and machines plus heat controls to large pot
• Fill out initial parts of Batch Production Record at this time and other parts during the day
• Use forklift to move pallet of 75-pound bales of solid rubber from storage racks to DPR area
• Strip shrink wrap from each bale
• When pot has reached required temperature, place each bale into a machine by using a hoist
• Continue placing rest of bales in machine for about four hours
• Monitor instruments to be sure process is proceeding properly
• Perform duties in the area in preparation for later discharge of DPR into steel drums
• Monitor viscosity of DPR several times when getting close to time of discharge
• When viscosity is at correct reading, start the DPR discharge process
• The entire process takes about twelve hours, some of which are on overtime
• On days when DPR is not being made, perform various jobs in grinding wheel production

Employee Requirements:

• Sufficiently mechanically inclined and skilled to operate industrial machinery
• Good attention to detail so DPR is made correctly to process and quality specifications
• Several years of experience in factory work is preferred.
• Able to lift, pull or push 50 pounds. Personal cranes and lifts also are available
• Good, continuous work record with some job detail noted on resume
• Have automobile and valid driver’s license
• Live relatively near to factory, within about 30 minutes
• Able to work the hours described above and maintain excellent attendance
• High school diploma or GED
