STARTING PAY $18.00
SCHEDULE M – Th 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
PRIMARY ROLE: Accurately pick orders to ensure the customer has the correct product, and on time. Set-up, operate or tend machines that strip and wind wire, and operate spooling machines spooling.
KEY MEASURES
- Meet all scheduled ship dates and ship orders on time.
- Identify items needing to be replenished
- Inventory parts and place them on shelves within 1 business day of receiving.
- 100% accurate counts.
JOB EXPECTATIONS
- Flexible & willing to train in other warehouse operations and/or fulfillment activities as assigned by management.
- Professionalism: Proper communication – tone and vocabulary, professional demeanor, and dress code
- Maintain the work area clean and free of hazards. Clean every day at the end of the shift.
Picker
- Retrieve and pick orders according to quantity, size etc. ensuring accuracy
- Build and wrap pallets with orders and position them to loading docks
- Re-stock inventory manually or with warehouse equipment
- Keep records of completed orders
- Maintain equipment and report on malfunctions
- Communicate and cooperate with managers and team members
- Operate equipment such as forklift and manual or electric pallet jacks.
- Contribute ideas on ways to improve or optimize warehousing procedures.
Striper - Spooler
- Add specified amounts of chemicals to equipment at required times to maintain solution levels and concentrations.
- Observe machine operations and adjust controls to maintain specified conditions.
- Drain, clean and refill machine at designated intervals
- Cutting wire after specified length has been wound using wire cutters.
- Inspect machinery to identify causes of error or defects and to determine whether repairs are needed.
- Monitor painting operations to identify flaws and correct their causes.
- Determine paint flow, viscosity, and coating quality by performing visual inspections.
- Maintains machine based on Preventative Maintenance schedule.
- Tends machine that rolls wire onto spools in preparation for shipment or further processing.
- Threads wire from supply spool or coil through distributor, tension guides, and secures end to empty spool and starts machine
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School diploma or GED preferred
KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
- Forklift or pallet-jack certification is preferred.
- One-year prior experience as a warehouse worker is a plus.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Knowledge of machines and tools
- Knowledge and understanding of warehousing processes
SKILLS
- Requires being careful about details and thorough in completing tasks.
- Proficient with software and can learn alternate databases and systems.
- Familiar with warehousing practices and methods
- Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other necessary warehouse equipment
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Active listening and talking to others to convey information effectively.
ABILITIES
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without being distracted.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Able to read and write and understand basic English instructions.
- Able to manage multiple tasks.
- Able to make coordinated movements of hands, arms, and fingers to grasp and manipulate objects.
PHYSICAL OR SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS / JOB HAZARDS
- Safely using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving material, and manipulating things to avoid potential pinches and cuts
- Stand for long periods of time and use abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body to avoid potential for back pain.
- Safely lift or move up to 50 lbs.; over 50 lbs. with equipment assistance, and exert muscle force to lift, push, pull or carry objects to avoid potential back pain.
- See details at close range - with or without glasses - within a short distance of the observer.
- Use hands for writing and computer use.
- Use of PPE required - steel toe shoes, safety glasses and gloves to avoid bodily injury.
- Working with abrasive chemicals – use assigned PPE (gloves, safety glasses and apron) to avoid potential slash incidents.
- Safely using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving material, manipulating things, and operating machinery to avoid potential pinch and cuts
Other duties, assignments, and responsibilities may be assigned from time to time by any member of PACER management.
