The Indiana Fever is seeking a highly motivated season associate to assist our Basketball Communications team this summer. The overall focus will be on assisting the department with media clippings, research and record-keeping, media access, game day logistics, and much more. The Indiana Fever Basketball Communications Season Associate position starts in May and ends at the conclusion of the 2025 Fever season. Due to the game and event schedule, the Indiana Fever Basketball Communications Season Associate must have availability to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with creation of written materials, such as press releases, game previews/recaps, media advisories and articles for FeverBasketball.com.
- Compile and distribute daily media clips of Fever and prominent WNBA coverage from local, regional, and national publications.
- Assist in compiling Fever statistical research, recordkeeping and other media resource materials.
- Aid in the development of team storylines for features on FeverBasketball.com or for external media pitches.
- Assist AVP of Basketball Communications and PR Manager with coordination of practice and game day interviews, quote transcriptions, and interview setup and fulfillment.
- Play an integral role in the execution of game day media operations, including game credentialing, in-game responsibilities and acting as a liaison for media and visiting PR teams.
- Positively represent the Indiana Fever brand and Communications department by creating a welcoming and supportive experience in all media interactions.
- Support the department, as needed, with additional non-game day events and/or remote game day coverage of away games.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a current college or university program as a junior, senior, or graduate student.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite. Experience with media monitoring platforms is a plus.
- Ability to maintain flexibility, openness, and a positive attitude when balancing multiple projects, assignments, tasks, and shifting priorities.
- Ability to work long and unusual hours during home games and assistance with some road games.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings.
