JOB TITLE: Parts Room Clerk
EXEMPT: No REPORTS TO: Parts Manager
SUMMARY: The Parts Room Clerk will use independent judgment to work in the Parts Room accurately maintaining parts inventory at assigned Pacific Ag Rentals branch.
This individual will perform a variety of customer service and stocking duties related to the parts sales, receiving and delivery of parts and accessories that contribute to the efficient, safe and profitable operation of the parts department. They will use available resources for the maintaining inventory and shipping and receiving. They will maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Operations:
- Directly responsible for all incoming part shipments, which may include, but not limited to loading and unloading
- Maintain record of all shipments both inbound and outbound. All transactional processing procedures should be followed using PAR guidelines
- Use dealership equipment, including forklifts and resources safely and proficiently.
- Take a proactive approach to inventory control by assisting and/or reporting discrepancies
- Receive, ship, and store parts as needed in accordance with DOT local, state and federal guidelines
- Proactively study and stay current on industry and product information
- Pick up and deliver parts for customers and vendors as needed
- Mark and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged system and assist with cycle count duties
Customer Service:
- Communicate all freight charges and status of shipments
- Ensure internal and external customers receive the correct parts in a timely manner through utilization of PAR. procedures
- Communicates with supervisor and other mechanics about shop questions or needs in either written or verbal form in a clear, professional and efficient manner
General Requirements:
- Establishes and maintains effective channels of communications with management, coworkers, vendors and all other business contacts
- Comfortable and willing to move/use equipment such as, but not limited to, forklifts, large tractors, water trucks, RTVs, etc.
- Ensures the use of equipment and materials in a safe and acceptable manner, following established safety procedures, using appropriate safeguards, and observing common sense rules of safety in all on the job activities
- Conducts self in a manner reflecting positively on PAR and STAR and encourages others to do the same
- Is organized, independent and self-motivated, enthusiastic, dependable, detail oriented, flexible in scheduling and prioritization, and driven by excellence
- Demonstrates proficient written and verbal communication skills, including accurate grammar and business correspondence
- Class C drivers license required
- A belief in working as a cohesive team
- Proactively seek and participate in available company sponsored training, in an effort to develop and advance knowledge base and skill set.
- Participate in all company/location driven communication efforts, including open book meetings, huddles, department meetings and other related efforts.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education and/or Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in a similar work environment with a proven track record of strong organizational skills, effective decision-making and excellent people skills
- Knowledge of parts operating system preferred but not required
- 2 years driving experience
- DMV record print out
Computer Skills:
- Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite preferred
Language Skills:
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
- Ability to respond to basic inquiries and present information effectively to customers, co-workers, and management verbally and in writing
Mathematical Skills:
- Ability to apply math concepts to practical situations
Reasoning Ability:
- Good reading skills to consult equipment manuals
- Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
WORKING CONDITIONS: working conditions described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job
ENVIRONMENT:
- Work time is split between the office, shop and yard in a variety of weather
- Regular time is spent in the shop
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
