Inspector/Packer

A well-established manufacturing plant in the Campbell Industrial area is looking for a hard working laborer to fill its SWING/NIGHT SHIFT (2:00pm-10:30PM when scheduled for 8 hours, 6:00pm-6:00am when scheduled for 12 hours) "Inspector / Packer" position. There can be a lot of overtime for this position. We are looking for anyone who can keep up with a fast pace and has excellent attention to detail. Only dedicated and hard-working individuals who can handle the work are encouraged to apply. Starting pay is $18/hr. We offer 5% differential for Swing Shift hours worked and 10% differential for Night Shift hours worked. Will train on the job.

If hired, you will become a team member of one of Hawaii's best Manufacturing Facilities. You must be drug-free and able to adapt to constantly changing work schedules. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Inspects PET products for food safety and quality issues (e.g. defects, contamination, and/or other).
• Immediately report defects or abnormalities to Management (e.g. Shift Lead).
• Operates palletizing machinery.
• Performs palletizer changeovers including conveyor systems.
• Performs daily scrap count reporting and report information to Management (e.g. Shift Lead).
• Regrinds clean and clear scrap.
• Assists Material Handler in loading slip sheets and top frames.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Provides relief help during lunch and breaks.
• Performs (PM)’s on equipment and auxiliary equipment when assigned or necessary.
• Performs and record housekeeping activities. Maintains cleanliness of the palletizer & surrounding areas.
• Following practices in accordance with food safety (e.g. FSSC 22000 certification, and/or other), quality (ISO 9001 certification and/or other), company, customer (e.g. KORE and/or other), state, and federal (CFRs, GMPs and/or other) requirements.
• Use only controlled documents and most updated revisions.
• The operator must follow:GMP’s and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) of the palletizer and grinder equipment.

Job Safety Analysis (JSA) Safety procedures and manufacturer’s manual safety requirements for the palletizer and grinder equipment.QA (Quality Assurance) & QC (Quality Control) department's requirements, specifications, instructions and direction on quality issues.Good documentation practices for records; when filling documents and making corrections.OTHER FUNCTIONS:

• Provide cross training to other members of the team.
• Other duties as assigned.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Indoors and outdoors conditions, Warehouse and production areas and some hazardous conditions.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND COMMUNICATION DEMANDS:

Lifting over 50 lbs (rarely), operating a forklift, working in an environment with fluctuating temperatures. Bend, reach, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Equipment operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and steel-toed, slip resistant shoes. Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted. Staying mentally alert, while working with heavy duty manufacturing equipment. Possibly working 12-hour shifts, staying mentally alert.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Warehouse experience,ability to work in assembly line or high speed fast pace environment. Able to work in a safe and proper manner. Capable of following specific instructions and all company required procedures.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma or GED

Requires basic reading, writing, math, and problem solving; requires verbal communication skills.

• $18/hr
