Compensation : $140,000 - $180,000 annual plus excellent benefits

Location : This position is on-site 5 days a week in our DTLA HQ office.

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

PACE is a local community nonprofit organization founded in 1975 to provide job training and placement services for the Asian Pacific Islander communities in Los Angeles. PACE has since expanded into a variety of service areas tailored to meet the growing and changing needs of the multi-ethnic communities in Los Angeles County. PACE serves more than 40,000 people each year with approximately 400 staff and is recognized as a leader in addressing problems of poverty and economic inequity in ethnic minority communities.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

PACE is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Director to lead the PACE Business Development Center (BDC) . The Director will oversee all aspects of the PACE BDC, including administration, coordination, planning, budgeting, organizing, staffing, leading, procurement, reporting, and controlling program activities. The BDC provides business training, technical assistance, 1 : 1 counseling, and access to capital to small business owners and entrepreneurs. The Director will develop and foster long-term partnerships with community partners and public / private funders to advance the organization and program's goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Plan the Program :

  • Plan the delivery of the overall program in accordance with the organization's mission and goals.
  • Develop new initiatives to support strategies.
  • Implement long-term goals and objectives for successful program outcomes.
  • Develop an annual budget and operating plan.
  • Develop a program evaluation framework for assessing strengths and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop funding proposals to ensure continuous service delivery.

Organize the Program :

  • Ensure program activities operate within organizational policies and funding requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and professional standards.
  • Document program activities through forms and records.
  • Oversee client records maintenance according to confidentiality policies.
  • Determine staff structure and ensure adequate staffing for operational needs.
  • Implement policies and maintain personnel files confidentially.
  • Lead the Program :

  • Ensure staff receive orientation and training according to standards.
  • Supervise program staff with direction and feedback.
  • Communicate with clients and stakeholders to gain community support.
  • Liaise with other managers for effective program delivery.
  • Coordinate service delivery among different program activities.
  • Control the Program :

  • Write reports for executive management and funders.
  • Ensure the program operates within the approved budget.
  • Collaborate with the Fiscal Officer to monitor budget expenditures.
  • Monitor cash flow projections and report variances regularly.
  • Manage project funds according to accounting policies.
  • Ensure financial records are up to date.
  • Prepare financial reports for funders as outlined in agreements.
  • Identify and evaluate risks associated with program activities.
  • Conduct annual evaluations based on the program evaluation framework.
  • Report findings to management and recommend enhancements.
  • Responsibilities to the Organization :

  • Set the program’s strategic agenda in collaboration with the COO.
  • Further PACE’s mission and vision as part of the Senior Management Team.
  • Represent the organization at events, conferences, and engagements.
  • Ensure adherence to legal rules and guidelines.
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or related field required; advanced degree such as Master's Degree / MBA preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in program management.
  • Minimum ten (10) years of supervisory experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years in executive leadership roles.
  • Experience with client groups and program-related issues.
  • Ability to make informed decisions.
  • Proficiency in technology and Microsoft applications.
  • Skills in finance or accounting required.
  • Additional Characteristics :

  • Must pass employment verification / reference check.
  • Reliable transportation; local travel may be required.
