What are the responsibilities and job description for the GL Accountant position at Pacific Bells?
Our company is currently experiencing rapid growth and we are seeking a GL Accountant to join our accounting team. The GL Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the review of financial analysis reports, period-end journal entries, and the period-end closing process. The successful candidate will also collect pertinent information for third party audits, operations and will be a point of contact for accounting issues.
Responsibilities
Including the following, other duties may be assigned.
This position will have responsibility to monitor, record, and report accounting activity for multiple locations
Monthly close functions:
Reconciliations:
· Balance sheet account reconciliations including cash, inventory, prepaids, liability accruals, debt and intercompany accounts (may vary depending on needs of company).
· Reconciliations are completed independently and must be fully analyzed to properly position the balances on the trial balance.
· Recurring and non-recurring journal entries
Sales & Use Tax:
· Monitor accuracy and completeness of sales and use tax collections, filings, and payments independently.
· Researching each states requirements, appropriately filing and communicate findings to all stakeholders.
· Must investigate and resolve all variances between collection of sales tax and remittance of taxes.
Flex Analysis
· Analyze and understand assigned GL Accounts
· Period to Period comparisons
· Actuals to Budgets comparisons
General functions:
Audit:
Sales & Use Tax Audits:
· Must represent the organization as the lead/liaison with the state agent
· Responsible for providing all information with analysis, responding to questions, and providing guidance on resolution.
Annual Financial Statement Audits, conducted by a third-party firm:
· Responsible for providing all information with analysis, responding to questions (from Lead/Manager), and providing guidance on resolution.
· Acquisition support
Ad hoc projects per management:
· Analyze independently the tasks that have been assigned
· Conduct research and substantiate their position and present to management/lead their resolution/commendation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Two or more years of experience within the field.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
Salary : $65,000 - $68,000
