Pacific Biodiesel Technologies is hiring for a motivated Safety Officer to join our Hawai'i Island team.
As a Safety Officer, you'll be responsible to ensure compliance with occupational and safety guidelines, hazard identification and risk mitigation. The Safety Officer will develop curriculum and deliver both safety and technical needs within the facility. Their role promotes a safe work environment and investigates incidents to improve overall safety.
Our ideal applicant possesses a high school diploma or equivalent, two (2) years in a lead position, possesses basic knowledge of regulatory requirements including federal and state safety health laws, proficient reading mechanical blueprints, electrical schematics, and equipment manuals, understands ergonomic principles and company safety procedures, excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), and demonstrates strong leadership qualities including excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
This position features physical demands including the ability to work for long periods outdoors in ambient temperature and precipitation extremes typical of Hawai'i climate, ability to sit, stand, twist, reach, walk, push, pull work in splayed positions, use of upper and lower extremities to perform maintenance and repair functions, lift and carry materials and tools, and climb stairs.
This is a regular, full-time, hourly, non-exempt, onsite position. Pay is $26-$32 / hour, based on experience, benefits including 100% employer-sponsored employee medical and dental coverage, paid holidays, PTO, 401K with employer match and more.
