Compensation We Offer 

  •  The initial compensation for this position ranges from $31.40 - $38.61 per hour.
  •  Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.
  •  The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location than the location posted. 
  •  8% License Differential for LMFT, LCSW, LPCC, PsyD. and select Peer Certifications.*
  •  7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*
    • must meet company policy eligibility requirements.

Work Schedule: Up to 16 hours a week, On Call schedule

About our Program:  TRUST: Is a Mobile Mental Health Evaluation Team that handles psychiatric emergencies for adults psychiatric or behavioral distress. Program includes a crisis hotline, mobile mental health response and follow up services

JOB SUMMARY 

Under supervision is responsible for responding to community-based crisis situations in county provided vehicle as part of the Trusted Response Urgent Stabilization Team (TRUST).  Works as part of a multidisciplinary field-based response team, deployed to the community. First Aid Responders will work collaboratively with other crisis responders providing primary and secondary client screenings and basic first aid when appropriate. Additionally, they provide crisis de-escalation, psychoeducation, outreach, and linkage to community supports.    

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 

  1. Work with TRUST multidisciplinary team to respond to field-based crisis.  
  2. Drive the mobile field team van to and from various locations. 
  3. Provide primary screening focused on medical and psychiatric concerns, not to exceed the scope of training obtained through the American Red Cross Adult CPR/AED/First Aid training. 
  4. Provide basic first aid not to exceed the scope of the American Red Crisis Adult CPR/AED/First Aid training. 
  5. Screen/test for COVID-19 and obtain standard vital signs for any client being transported.   
  6. Provide verbal CPI de-escalation techniques and stabilization services in the community in a clinically and culturally appropriate manner. 
  7. Participate in community outreach events 
  8. Complete documentation including but not limited to, incident reports, call summary reports, community outreach summaries, physical screening forms 
  9. Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; always protect sensitive data. 
  10. Transport clients to an appropriate level of care 
  11. Maintain cleanliness, orderliness, and good working condition of the vehicle, interior, and exterior, using established maintenance criteria; arrange servicing when needed.   
  12. Perform a visual inspection of vehicles and complete van binder checklist; check fuel gauge, dashboard warning lights, etc. according to established schedule to ensure continued operation. 
  13. Report all accidents, incidents and/or breakdowns involving vehicle(s) while in use; fill out required forms for insurance purposes and/or Facilities attention. 
  14. Complete all required annual trainings and evaluations  
  15. Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly department and agency meetings as identified by the supervisor.  
  16. Maintain a consistent, high-quality, customer-focused service style when conducting business and providing services to staff and clients (internal customers), the general public, and other external customers.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION  

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent education. 
  • Credentialed as an EMT in the state of California. 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum of six months related behavioral health experience, full-time best practices experience in deliveries and customer service. (Volunteer experience will be considered.)  
  • Experience with intake paperwork/processing preferred. 
  • Interpersonal skills and judgment relevant to make evaluations of eligibility for services, urgency of need, understanding of potential legal/ethical issues, and risk management required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; standing, walking, moving lifting or carrying objects up to 45lbs. Repetitive motion and reaching repeatedly are required constantly. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Hearing and talking on telephone/in person is required consistently.  

LEVEL OF CONTACT WITH CHILDREN OR ADULTS 

  • Will have supervised contact with children and adults  
  • Will have unsupervised contact with children and adults  
  • Requires a full background check and TB exam. 
  • Requires physical. 
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification. 

DRIVING PRIVILEGES 

  • Required to drive agency vehicle. Must have clean MVR, appropriate insurance coverage, and attend agency driver training. 

TRAINING 

  • Needs to successfully complete all required agency training indicated for this position.
