Who We Serve 

Pacific Clinics serves children, transitional-age youth, families, adults, and older adults. We offer a full range of mental and behavioral health services, foster care and social services, housing, continuing adult education and early childhood education programs to Medi-Cal-eligible individuals and families throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, Fresno, Kings, Los Angeles, Madera, Orange, Placer, Riverside, Sacramento, San Bernardino, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Solano, Stanislaus, Stockton, Tulare and Ventura Counties.   

Compensation We Offer

  •  The initial compensation for this position ranges from $85,050.01 - $104,600.79 per year.
  •  Salary is dependent on commensurate experience above the minimum qualifications for the role and internal equity considerations.
  •  The salary may also vary if you reside in a different location than the location posted. 
  •  7.5% Bilingual Differential for qualified positions*
    • must meet company policy eligibility requirements.

About our Programs:  

  • FSP: Supports children ages 6-15; FSP utilizes a community-based, team approach providing counseling, case coordination, behavioral support, parent coaching, and community resourcing to support families with complex needs.
  • TBS: Supports children and youth up to 21 who are at risk to move to a higher level of care and/or be hospitalized because of their behavioral issues or to support a transition to a lower level of care. Multiple hours of treatment per week can be provided as needed to stabilize targeted behaviors. This treatment is a coaching model that always includes the caregiver.

 

JOB SUMMARY

Works within the vision, mission, and philosophy of the agency. Provides assessment and related developmental and psychosocial services to youth and their families by engaging and partnering with parents/caregivers so that they can meet the developmental needs of a youth. This position will be part of a multi-disciplinary team.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Conducts informal and formal assessments to evaluate ability level, needs, and factors interfering with success in school, home, and community through the use of functional, behavioral and standardized assessments (such as Battelle Developmental Inventory – 2nd Edition, Sensory Profile-2, Brigance Communication Screener, Peabody, etc), skilled observation, history and interviews.
  2. Engages with and supports individual client and family goals and needs in coordination with other agencies including, but not limited to, the San Andreas Regional Center (SARC), Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE), FIRST 5, and other community organizations.
  3. Collaborates with multi-disciplinary team to develop treatment plans and make recommendations, including home programs and referrals to other services as needed.
  4. Participates in staff meetings, case conferences, training, family meetings, and professional consultation as necessary.
  5. Provides caregivers and team members with education on behavioral and psychosocial approaches, self-care, coping skills, safety planning, and community interactions to enhance the youth’s daily functioning
  6. Provides direct therapeutic intervention, consultation, and support to youth and families in a variety of settings.
  7. Develops and implements individualized treatment programs that include:
    • Utilizing CBT approaches to facilitate participation in desired activities
    • Play activities that instruct as well as aid clients in interacting and communicating with others.
    • Reduction of environmental barriers that limit client participation in family, learning and community-based activities.
    • Modification of environment to support improved attention and self-regulation
    • Implementation of prevention techniques.
  1. Maintains required program documentation and completes timely and accurate reports.
  2. Provides re-assessment and appropriate follow up with families after services have been rendered to determine if service was successful or additional service is needed.
  3. Coordinates, disseminates, and collects outcome evaluation instruments.
  4. Follows states laws regarding confidential information in verbal and written communication.
  5. Meets program productivity requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Driving to appointments with clients and their families or other key contacts.
  • Physical interactions with children of variable ages such as but not limited to games, sports, and other activities.
  • Performs other duties as directed by the Clinical Program Manager.
  • Performs other responsibilities, as assigned, to support department/business needs.

CORE ABILITIES

  • Advocate for families served within the larger community and other macro systems.
  • Mobilize and educate families about formal and informal resources to support families

QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

  • Masters (MA/MS) in Occupational Therapy..
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with low-income children and families preferred
  • Occupational Therapist License required.

 

OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Must pass Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), and Child Abuse Index Check (CAIC) background clearance.
  • Valid California Driver's license with two years experience driving and clean driving record may be required.
