Janitor/Custodian

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in all areas of the plant and office; and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

• Floor care: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, waxing and polishing floors.
• Waste removal: collecting and disposing of trash from all areas.
• Restroom sanitation: cleaning and restocking restroom facilities with supplies (soap, paper towels, and toilet paper)
• Dusting: cleaning dust from furniture, fixtures and surfaces.
• Window cleaning: Washing windows and mirrors.
• Carpet cleaning: vacuuming and spot cleaning carpets.
• Surface disinfection: wiping down desks, doorknobs, light switches, cabinets and other commonly touched surfaces.
• Maintaining cleaning equipment: inspecting and properly storing cleaning tools and supplies
• Reporting maintenance issues: identifying and reporting any damage or malfunctioning fixtures to the appropriate personnel.
• Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience is a plus.
• Attention to detail and ability to maintain high standard of cleanliness
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safety procedures related to cleaning chemicals.
• Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
• Ability to work independently and follow a cleaning schedule.
• Basic understanding of cleaning equipment.
• Predictable and Regular attendance is required.
  
  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

• Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; Reach with hands and arms; Talk and listen; Stand, walk, and sit.
• Frequently required to bend at the waist; Lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds to move furniture, cleaning equipment and chemical containers.

SALARY: $19 - $23 / Hourly
