Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Yard & Secondary Operations Superintendent, this position supports secondary operations of block production which includes: splitting, cutting, grinding, blasting, and tumbling. This position will work in a team environment to execute the secondary operation needs of the day, often rotating tasks / functions to support production schedule needs. The operator will ensure proper machine functionality, production efficiency and verify product quality and is responsible for supporting and demonstrating the Core Values of Integrity, Safety, Respect, Customer Focus, Quality, Innovation and Financial Success. Performs other related duties as assigned.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: General
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Efficient and safe equipment operation to include operation of: splitter/grinder/saw/blaster/tumbler
- Checks blocks for proper quality (splits, cuts and grindings)
- Make critical equipment adjustments to insure finished product quality
- Operate a fork lift to move material to and from applicable secondary operations
- Read and be accountable to meeting secondary operations schedule
- Complete required production paper work for daily activities
- Operations may require: Loading block into process equipment by hand; Stacking finished product on pallets by hand.
- Properly execute daily equipment preventative maintenance tasks
- Maintain work area and equipment to be clean and clutter free per company standards
- Regularly meet with supervisor
- Attends safety meetings and abide by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected
- Predicable and Regular attendance is required
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Industrial Production line experience preferred
- Forklift operation is required (Basalite Forklift Certification must be obtained as on the job training).
- On-the-job training is required to be able to perform duties and properly operate equipment
- Ability to interface with automated machine operator screens
- Requires basic reading and writing skills
- Requires basic mathematics and counting skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing
- Ability to act and address conflict in a professional manner
- Ability to act professionally and remain calm in high stress situations
- Predictable and Regular attendance is required.

Pay range $20-24 (depending on experience)
