Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. Product lines include structural block, interlocking paving stones, engineered wall systems, retaining walls, ornamental and garden products, and a full range of sack goods. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Tests concrete products from each branch in the division. Including block and dry sack production.
- Performs compression testing, absorption, density and moisture testing, weight and sieve tests for aggregates, and durability testing.
- Reports changes in strength of raw materials, finished product, and quality to management. Recommends corrective action when appropriate.
- Documents lab test results. Monitors process and document changes as required.
- Checks each production line periodically (daily) to assure product meets correct specifications for color and size. Notifies machine operator when product does not meet specifications.
- Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies and ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time by the company or its designated representatives.
- Regular and Predictable attendance is required. Some overtime may be required on an intermittent basis.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- A high school education or equivalent with advanced courses in laboratory testing technique, preferred.
- One year experience laboratory procedures in a production environment.
- Knowledge of testing procedures for concrete products and aggregate, and safety requirements including employee training, documentation and reordering.
- Communicate effectively with peers and management.
- Ability to use and operate various types of testing equipment and machines, forklifts, mixers and personal computer.
- Possess a certificate to operate forklifts.
- Excellent written, oral communication, and mathematical skills.
- Regular and Predictable attendance is required. Some overtime may be required on an intermittent basis.
