Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Senior Accountant located in Houston, Texas. We will consider Manager position depending on experience. The Senior Accountant will help ensure the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting on a monthly basis. This will be a multi-faceted role and the Senior Accountant will directly collaborate with the Controller and Chief Financial Officer ("CFO") along with other personnel to ensure efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
Typical duties will include the following:
- Lead efforts to analyze and streamline current accounting practices
- Support and/or lead the monthly closing process, including prepare and/or review journal entries and account reconciliations
- Produce monthly consolidated financial statements and lease operating statements
- Analyze financial results, including budget vs. actuals, trend analysis
- Work directly with the CFO to execute certain treasury duties
- Assist with certain aspects of vendor management
- Understand the revenue cycle and process revenue (serve as back up) as necessary
- Provide audit support, including preparation of schedules and analyses
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 5-7 years relevant experience (minimum of 2 years of upstream oil and gas experience)
- Must possess strong analytical and accounting skills, including US GAAP
- Problem-solver who thinks in terms of solutions, not barriers

- Automation-oriented (or be comfortable with change to streamline execution)
- Must be adaptable to changes in the work environment, competing demands and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events
- Competency in MS Office and accounting software (OGSYS/OGPro, P2 Excalibur/Bolo, Enertia, or other O&G software)
- Accuracy and attention to detail, with an aptitude for numbers
- Excellent organizational and planning skills, individual should prioritize and plan work activities efficiently
Salary : $80,000 - $100,000
