Pacific Coast Fresh Company is a local, family-owned produce distributor that has proudly served our Pacific Northwest retail, wholesale and food service customers since 1977. We are now one of the largest independent produce distributors in the Northwest with distribution centers in Portland, Oregon and Seattle, Washington. In 2023, we welcomed King Harvest Hummus, a leading northwest producer of fresh hummus, to the PCF family.

We are currently seeking an experienced culinary professional to manage our hummus production process. The Production Manager is responsible for implementing and monitoring systems required to meet safety, production, and quality targets, and plays a key role in ensuring the viability, success, and profitability of the King Harvest brand.
What you'll do...
- Adhere to finished product and processing specs, ensuring consistency in product flavor, texture, and appearance
- Master and manage the intricate details of the product’s artisan qualities
- Assess workload, assign, prioritize, delegate, and guide team through daily production activities.
- Manage and coach a team of 10-12 employees, evaluate the work of team members, and make staffing recommendations
- Train KH team on new and existing processes and procedures.
- Ensure that all production activities comply with food safety and quality standards.
- Ensure a safe production environment by implementing and enforcing workplace safety protocols, participating in regular safety audits, and providing team members with the necessary training and equipment to prevent accidents and injuries on the production floor.
- Continually review production processes, including equipment, to ensure maximum efficiency
- Comply with all project timelines, communicating any obstacles or delays to direct supervisor
- Record and analyze data and provide production reports.
- Conduct testing, including new and existing ingredients, to meet taste, nutritional, and cost parameters
- Prepare and distribute samples both internally and externally as needed
What we look for...
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s or culinary degree preferred)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in food operations (restaurant, commercial kitchen, food processing) including at least 1 year in a supervisory/management role
- Understanding of ingredients, temperature, and food processing, and their effects on final product
- Understanding of commercial kitchens and operational problem solving
- Familiarity with flavor profiles and ingredients
- Excellent problem-solving abilities, specifically in the areas of meeting deadlines and coordinating/communicating with other departments
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and meet target goals
- Team-oriented, with the ability to look at what’s best for the company when making decisions.
- Ability to work well in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- A high level of safety awareness and clear understanding of equipment safety.
- Strong computer skills, preferably including Excel and Warehouse Management Systems.
