Pacific Coast Producers (PCP), a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a Syrup Room Processor to join its team at its facility in The Dalles, OR. We have two production facilities located in The Dalles, Oregon, specifically dedicated to processing cherries. The facilities are equipped with advanced sorting and pitting equipment, enabling us to efficiently process large volumes of cherries while maintaining strict quality standards. Our facilities are an important part of the Pacific Northwest's agricultural industry and play a key role in the production of high-quality cherry products for consumers around the world.
Pay Rate: $22.23 per hour; This on-site role is based at our The Dalles, OR Production Facility and requires occasional weekend and overtime hours as needed. This position is part of a seniority based Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA).

The Syrup Room Processor is responsible for accurately executing all processes and procedures related to Jumbo processing, floor tank operations (including leaching, stabilizer preparation, and vacuum pans), and APV system operation. Performs QA testing and monitoring to ensure syrup is ready for processing.
Primary job duties would include:
- Complete all processes, including various methods of loading tanks, blanching, syruping and syrup making, to proper procedural cleaning and sanitizing. Operate Processing computer.
- Operate APV and vacuum pan systems including start-up, shut down, and monitoring with accurate documentation.
- Check syrup levels on a continual basis to verify that each tank has the correct type of syrup and correct liquid level.
- Make and pump batches of all types of syrups, stabilizer and flavors for all areas of the plant.
- Dump totes and/or barrels of product as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely processing records.
- Operate all equipment in a safe and productive manner within FDA good manufacturing procedures.
- Perform all QA tests/monitoring as required to clear syrup for processing; record all data on logs.
- Maintain a clean, organized and hazard free work area.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.

- Physically capable of performing all general labor jobs and requirements.
- Ability to become respirator certified to work with or near brine, and/or other fumes.
- Demonstrates excellent safety record and follows all good manufacturing practices.
- Must pass a Processor Math Test with a minimum score of 70% as a pre-employment requirement.
Physical Requirements
Frequent physical activity includes walking, bending, standing, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs., touching, reaching, gripping, finger dexterity, and hearing. Moderate physical activity may include stooping, color identification, close vision, and depth perception. Under strenuous conditions, employees are still expected to perform their job requirements in a safe manner. Must be able to work overtime if needed.
Environmental Factors
Working conditions include exposure to plant temperature extremes, dampness, humidity, fumes, and high noise levels. Work requires wearing proper protective equipment. Incumbent may work with or around machinery and/or in a crowded area.
