Position Overview:
The Estimator is responsible for all aspects of estimating large-scale and complex projects. This includes client presentations, closing sales, pre-construction activities, hard bids, negotiated bids, budgets, value engineering, subcontractor relations, and staying current with industry developments. This role works closely with the Preconstruction Department and contributes to estimating efforts across the GC, Commercial, Multifamily, and Rehabilitation divisions.
Responsibilities:
• Provide project management oversight to maintain close relationships with clients
• Follow up on all estimating department projects and create second chance opportunities to win projects
• Present proposals and represent the company in a professional and honest manner
• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications; explain plans and contract terms
• Provide more conceptual value in every client communication or engagement in every way conceivable
• Prepare detailed quantity surveys and conceptual cost estimates from early design through construction phases
• Develop variance summaries between estimates and prepare CSI-coded budgets and forecasting reports
• Manage pre-bid value engineering, and cost saving options with precision
• Prepare detailed bid package estimates by trade and assist the preconstruction team in developing written bid packages.
• Conduct quantity take-offs and apply unit pricing for materials and labor to establish project value.
• Ensure full understanding of project scope through thorough document review and communication with design teams and owners
• Present, negotiate, and close high-end projects with proven results
• Manage subcontractor solicitation and selection processes.
Requirements:
• Expertise in cladding, windows, doors, storefronts, roofing, and rough framing, with a strong understanding of construction costs and principles
• Expert knowledge of the exterior building envelope
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (Master’s preferred) OR at least five years of proven experience in estimating and project management
• Exceptional analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving, quality control, and process improvement
• Advanced proficiency with Bluebeam and certifications in document management tools
• CPM scheduling expertise using Smartsheet and MS Project,
• Extensive estimating experience (EIFS, quantity take-offs, purchasing, accounting, engineering design, and project management)
• Proficiency with Smartsheet, Bluebeam, OneDrive, and MS Office Suite
• Outstanding communication and influence skills (must be able to close projects and battle objections)
• Advanced understanding of construction processes, systems, and codes

• Schedule:
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts.
• Reports to the Director of Operations
Compensation:
• $60,000–$180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additional compensation is available for the correct team members ability to produce results.
