CNC Maintenance Lead
Purpose
The CNC Maintenance Lead is responsible for supporting the CNC Maintenance Tech in their overseeing of the operational and maintenance functions of assigned assets. This role involves proactively maintaining the assets through regular maintenance practices, troubleshooting, and ensuring efficient operation. The technician will work closely with operators to provide guidance and support to optimize asset performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up of CNC cutting tools, router bits, and fixtures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and CNC program files to properly set up all machine functions.
- Regularly inspect and maintain assigned assets to ensure optimal functionality and prevent downtime.
- Maintain records of current and past maintenance items.
- Provide guidance and troubleshooting support to operators to resolve operational issues.
- Establishes and promotes safe work practices for all machinery.
- Ensures machines and operators are set up to maintain high quality standards.
- Train and assist operators in proper asset handling and preventive maintenance practices.
- Develop and implement improvement initiatives to enhance asset performance.
- Document and report maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and preventive measures.
- Assist with general facilities maintenance as needed, including organizing work areas, cleaning dust collection system, managing waste removal, and performing snow removal.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Attributes / Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with test measurement diagnostic tools.
- Highly organized with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to operators and team members.
- Ability to lift up-to 50lbs & perform physical tasks: bending, climbing, and operating heavy machinery.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Required Education/Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Prior industry experience or relevant technical background is preferred.
- Minimum 3 years experience within a CNC Maintenance Technician role preferred.
