The Pacific Cycle HR team supports approximately 150 employees to include marketing, product development, finance, quality, planning, data & analytics, consumer care, sales, and other cross-functional commercial teams.

As a member of the leadership team, the HR Director acts as a collaborative HR partner and advises on people-related strategy and decisions, including talent acquisition, organizational design, compensation, talent development, engagement, performance, and strategic HR planning. In this position, you'll oversee the HR & Facilities team, to include two direct reports. The team engages and partners with the PonBike HR Centers of Excellence to obtain consultative support and leverage common tools, systems, and processes. You'll support HR COEs and HR Business Services to provide insights on initiatives and act as a critical partner in the execution of strategic deliverables across the business.

This role is based out of our Madison, WI corporate office and is eligible to participate in the company's Hybrid work program; working in the office 3 days and eligible to work remotely 2 days.

A few (but not all) of this position's responsibilities are listed below :

HR Leadership :

  • Collaborates with the leadership team to develop strategic and tactical management planning and to define the human resources goals and objectives in alignment with the Company's overall strategy.
  • Partners with the senior leadership team to develop goals, plans, and performance benchmarks and is responsible for the implementation of all to ensure a diverse workplace with equitable management and inclusive opportunities for all employees and applicants.
  • Develops, implements, and manages the performance evaluation process and compensation programs, ensuring competitive standing in the marketplace. Advises management of trends and identifies issues related to performance and compensation.
  • Leads research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization's HCM system.
  • Drive complex change programs for the organization, educating key stakeholders on best practices in change management while orchestrating a full circle review of impact to ensure acceptance.
  • Talent / Workforce Planning :

  • Develop strategic solutions to meet the Company's workforce needs; oversee the hire-to-retire people experience and develop supporting processes to attract and retain great talent.
  • Provides guidance and approvals as to the development of new positions and changes to existing positions and departments.
  • Has approval authority on compensation changes together with management and department managers.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to the leadership team.
  • Total Rewards :

  • In alignment with established Centers of Excellence (COE), implements employee benefit programs, compensation structures, compliance and reporting functions, organizational structure and development, performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, and company policies.
  • Executes and manages benefits in partnership with COEs for all insurance plans, 401(k) plans, flexible and health spending accounts, and all other employee-related benefits.
  • Creates and implements a wellness strategy that promotes health, wellness, and safety.
  • Ensures compliance with all benefit plans and other government reporting.
  • Employee Development

  • Leads, develops, and manages human resources direct reports.
  • Coordinates with senior management to assist with employee training and development including leadership training and professional development seminars and workshops opportunities for staff.
  • Works with senior management to assist in the development of departmental succession planning strategy, including considering opportunities for employees who demonstrate aptitude and desire for upward mobility.
  • Employee Engagement :

  • Establishes and or leads employee engagement committee and budget to plan events and activities throughout the year that promote and foster team building, positive employee engagement, and enthusiasm.
  • Employee Relations :

  • Serves as primary contact for staff, management, vendors, and legal counsel related to employee investigations, disciplinary actions, risk mitigation, and personnel-related litigation.
  • Monitors and ensures all mandatory federal and state compliance training is completed.
  • Ensure a positive work environment that is safe, fulfilling, respectful, free from discrimination and harassment, and promotes overall well-being.

    Education & Experience

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field Required.
  • SHRM-CP / MBA highly preferred.
  • 10 years' experience leading HR teams, partnering with senior leaders and driving strategic workforce initiatives.
  • Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing human resources programs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
  • Proficient knowledge of applicable employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with coworkers, leadership, and outside vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office with the ability to build impactful presentations and HR dashboards.
  • Effectively engages and connects with a diverse range of individuals, promoting trust and building strong relationships across all levels.
