Job Description
We are recruiting for a highly engaged Human Resources Business Partner to join a large and successful nonprofit organization that operates in multiple states. Our client offers a hybrid work schedule (2 days onsite, 3 days remote), 15 days of PTO, retirement options with employer matching (4-6%), and shorter workdays on Fridays. The Human Resources Business Partner will be responsible for employee relations, retention, relationship building, training and development, coaching, terminations, and some investigations. This is a newly created position to support operations across California and will report to the HR Director. This role requires occasional travel to San Francisco, Sacramento, and Los Angeles. Salary : $120,000-$125,000 DOE.
The qualified candidate will have strong employee relations experience and enjoys providing high touch human resources services. HR certification and UKG Pro proficiency is a plus.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead strategic solutions to address talent, organization, and culture implications to business model or strategy.
- Partner with leadership in organizational design, development, and change management focused on implementation of business strategy.
- Ensure compliance with State and Federal employment laws.
- Stay informed regarding business challenges, opportunities, strategic direction, industry, and competitive environment.
- Assess needs, analyze workforce trends for changes within the region, identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable insights.
- Partner with leadership to strategize department staffing needs and structure. Collaborate with recruiters to strategize recruiting / onboarding approach.
- Manage and resolve employee relations matters, investigate, when necessary, partner with the team to determine outcome / next steps, and resolve concerns / complaints in a consistent and timely fashion. Review and advise managers on disciplinary decisions / documents.
- Design and facilitate targeted training and coach managers in people management, talent development and acquisition, communication, leadership, team and inter-department effectiveness / dynamics.
- Respond to legal concerns as necessary. Maintain accurate documentation regarding employee incidents, complaints filed, disciplinary, and other workplace investigations.
- Collaborate and consult with HR operations team and management teams on pre-, current-, and post-employment matters.
- Provide timely, appropriate, quality, and candid counsel.
