Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee the month-end closing activities, including reviewing journal entries, conducting detailed P&L variance analysis, performing account reconciliations, and processing month-end accruals.
- Prepare and evaluate monthly and annual financial statements and reporting packages, ensuring adherence to US GAAP and internal policies. Offer financial insights and recommendations to senior management to aid in strategic decision-making.
- Lead and mentor the accounting team, focusing on recruitment, training, and performance evaluation while promoting a collaborative and growth-oriented workplace culture.
- Supervise all accounting functions, encompassing accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, and inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliation, and cost analysis.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger while complying with regulatory standards and industry practices. Continuously assess and improve accounting processes, systems, and internal controls to enhance efficiency and precision.
- Conduct research, draw conclusions, and document technical accounting positions.
- Oversee company audits, including financial, tax, workers’ compensation, and third-party audits. Collaborate with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure compliance and timely completion.
- Manage tax compliance responsibilities, including sales and use tax filings, state and local tax obligations, property, and business tax reporting, while coordinating with CPA firms to meet deadlines and estimates.
- Enhance financial processes and systems by utilizing NetSuite and other tools to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Facilitate collaboration across departments to improve cross-functional understanding of financial processes and their outcomes.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity to support daily operations, investments, and growth initiatives. Manage vendor relationships, including payment processing.
- Streamline and automate accounting functions to boost operational effectiveness and support the company’s ongoing growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; CPA and/or Master’s degree is preferred.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, ideally with a background in public accounting.
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, including ASC 606 and ASC 842.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and developing accounting teams.
- Expertise in handling various audits, including tax, workers' compensation, third-party, and financial audits.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.
- Capacity to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with a quick learning ability in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly NetSuite, is advantageous.
- Ability to utilize technology for efficient data collection and analysis.
- Strong interpersonal skills for managing staff and engaging with vendors, departments, and senior leadership.
- Adaptable and capable of pivoting and prioritizing tasks effectively.
Salary : $125,000 - $160,000
