Optical Assistant:Job Duties:
- Answering phones / responding to voice messages
- Call patients when glasses are ready for pick-up.
- Process patient insurances
- Reconcile invoices
- Organize optical frame boards and table drawers
- Minor frame repairs and adjustments
- Process mail delivery returns
- Process cash and credit card payments
- Input glasses and contact lens orders into computer system
- Dispense glasses to patients
- Order warranty replacement frames
- Greet and triage walk-in’s
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned by the Opticians/Office Manager
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff and doctor
- Outstanding accuracy and attention to detail
- Competent computer skills
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in customer service recommended, but not required
- Is neat, well groomed and follows a professional dress code
- Strong work ethic, honest, reliable, and hard working
- Thrives in a team environment
- Able to take direction from others
- Maintains consistent attendance and reports to work on time
