Job Summary
The Safety Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and compliant workplace. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs that adhere to OSHA regulations and promote a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of environmental health and safety (EHS) standards, workers' compensation laws, and occupational health practices. The Safety Coordinator will work closely with management and employees to identify hazards, conduct training sessions, and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
Duties
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety incidents, compliance issues, and training needs.
- Provide first aid assistance as needed and ensure first aid kits are adequately stocked.
- Facilitate training development sessions for employees on safety practices and emergency response.
- Collaborate with management to investigate accidents or incidents and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain records related to workers' compensation claims and assist in the claims process.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all safety-related inquiries.
- 3 years minimum of proven experience in a safety coordinator or similar role, within Agriculture preferred.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers' compensation law, EHS standards, and occupational health practices.
- Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
- Certification in first aid/CPR preferred; ability to provide first aid assistance required.
- Experience in training development and delivery for diverse audiences.
- Bilingual- English / Spanish-Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in both languages.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 45 per week
