About the Role
Job Overview :
As our Head of Controls Engineering, you will architect our Controls systems across all hardware and software for our fusion Demonstration System. This demonstration system will achieve net facility gain, and will have its own site, facilities, and infrastructure. You will design the solutions and lead a team that oversees instrumentation, data acquisition, and control systems across the entire demonstration facility.
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of fusion demonstration system's control systems
- Build and lead a team of controls engineers with expertise across : Industrial operations, robotics, diagnostics, data acquisition
- Architect a unified control system hardware and software solution that is controlling and gathering data across : valves, transducers, signal cables, sensors and diagnostics, motors, robotics, positioners, etc
- Support stakeholders across many business groups, including : fusion scientists, mechanical and process engineers, technicians, facilities, commercial and operations
- Design a system that can interpret data in real-time to facilitate operations decisions in high stakes environments such as : power plants, refineries, rocket launch systems, automotive production lines, etc
