About the Role
Job Overview :
As a Mechanical Designer you will take the helm in crafting all-encompassing technical models, drawings, and documentation, which are paramount in propelling our systems forward. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive mindset to meet the exciting challenges in the field of fusion energy. As a Mechanical Designer, you will work collaboratively on challenging projects and play a vital role in the creation of fusion system that demonstrates net facility gain and will have its own site, facilities, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities : Develop innovative mechanical designs for complex engineering problems for pulsed power fusion machines while adhering to ambitious timelinesProduce detailed 3D CAD models and 2D drawings of mechanical components and systems with a design for manufacturing mindsetCollaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams of engineers, physicists, and researchers to understand design requirements and specificationsImplement design changes and improvements under the guidance of senior engineersWork closely with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are practical, cost-effective, and manufacturableParticipate in design reviews and accept critical feedback to improve system performance and reliabilityOwn the creation of detailed design documentation and specifications, ensure that drawings comply with industry standards, tolerances, and best practicesQualifications :
