Pacific Fusion was founded in 2023 with the mission to power the world with abundant, affordable, clean energy.
We are rapidly designing and building a pulsed magnetic fusion system to achieve net facility gain (more fusion energy output than stored energy input). In parallel, we are developing the key components required to build affordable fusion systems.

About the Role
Job Overview :
As a Component Scientist, you will research and invent novel pulsed power components. You must have a proven record of research and development, advanced materials, energy storage and density, novel component invention, reliability testing, and going from R&D to production.
There are two components we are focusing on :
- High-reliability, rep-rateable capacitor development. 100 kV, 50 kA, million shot lifetime, 1 Hz rep-rate.
- High-reliability, rep-rateable gas switch development. 200 kV, 50 kA, million shot lifetime, 1 Hz rep-rate.
Other components in our pulsed power system include : anodes, cathodes, power supply, inductors, resistors, triggers and diagnostics.
