Department Overview
TIMP Risk Management is focused on ensuring that we advance pipeline safety through robust data analysis, integration and continuous improvements towards a zero significant incidents goal. Risk Management ensures safety by; identifying consequences (HCA, MCA and Class), developing and improving risk and threat models and integrating and validating data for risk assessment to PG&E’s gas transmission pipelines (pipeline). The Manager of Transmission Integrity Management Risk Management is responsible for leading a department of 25 people including the Class / HCA / MCA, Data Risk and Threat and Risk Assessment teams. The Manager is responsible for ensuring PG&E’s risk assessment processes meet or exceed Subpart O requirements, and is used to develop the assessment strategies to ensure the integrity of PG&E’s gas transmission pipelines and ensure PG&E’s gas transmission asset information is continually improving to meet regulatory requirements.
Position Summary
The Manager of Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP), Risk Management is responsible for directing a team of 25 non-union professional employees responsible for developing the risk assessment for PG&E’s TIMP. The position is accountable for TIMP as the functional owner, causal analyses, measuring performance and risk assessment in order to better understand risk and consequences of the transmission pipeline system, develop and refine models to improve performance and validate and review risk results as part of continuous improvement.
Location is flexible within the PG&E Service Territory between Oakland and San Ramon headquarters, please note hiring leader will make final decision of what are appropriate headquarters for the role based on business need.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (San Ramon or Oakland).
Position will require approximately 5% of travel time in work schedule.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is :
Bay Area Minimum : $140,000
Bay Area Maximum : $238,000
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for teams managing risk and threat Analysis and GIS and Data Integration, including subject matter experts for Records, Integrity Management and Assessment Planning.
- Manage and lead the TIMP Risk Team and the overall integrity management process to ensure adherence with all applicable code and regulations.
- Oversee the completion of risk and threat analysis, assessment scheduling and tracking for all TIMP assessments.
- Report out on TIMP progress and incorporate continuous improvement as well as feedback loops into all aspects of TIMP.
- Responsible for the review, revision and / or creation of all applicable TIMP risk algorithms, risk management procedures and risk management instructions.
- Communicate effectively through regular interactions with the Integrity Management Engineering team, Integrity Management Information / Process Management team, Pipeline Safety Enhancement Plan (PSEP) team, Project Engineering, Asset Knowledge, Gas Leadership, other PG&E operating departments as well as regulatory oversight bodies including the CPUC and PHMSA and with industry organizations including INGAA, PRCI, GTI, NACE and AGA.
- Oversee the execution of PG&E's Risk Management Procedures.
- May represent PG&E and exhibit a leadership role on various industry boards and committees.
- Provide integrity subject matter expertise to other Gas Operations organizations.
- Lead response to internal and external audits and drive process corrective actions as required
- Lead or participate in various Integrity Management Threat Committees and Teams.
- Supervisory Responsibility- Recruit / select, communicate expectations, foster employee engagement, coach, develop, mentor, recognize and reward employees in order to drive performance and results. Manages Supervisor, Professional and Support employees.
