A Business Developer works in the field to prospect properties and manage prospective client relationships within Pacific Landscape Maintenance’s criteria within their geographical or business line as assigned. The Business Developer works with the sales team, Branch Managers, and Account Managers to identify sales opportunities. To achieve this, they need to find potential new customers, present to them, ultimately convert them into clients, and continue to grow the business in the future. They call on clients, often being required to make presentations on solutions and services that meet or predict their clients’ future needs. All sales activities need to be documented in our enterprise CRM.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased sales of contract maintenance
  • Cold call as appropriate within your market or geographic area to ensure a robust pipeline
  • Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization
  • Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging your network
  • Research and build relationships with new clients by participating in events and trade associations
  • Build on key relationships by setting up lunch and learns and building out events schedule with key customers
  • Ensure that data is accurately entered within the company’s CRM or other sales management system
  • Develop proposals and presentations with team that meet prospects needs, concerns, and objectives
  • Participate in estimating and pricing the solution/service
  • Represent Pacific Landscape Management with the utmost integrity and professionalism
  • Work with to make sure new clients are successfully transitioned to account managers and production
  • Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate
  • Assist management in forecasting sales targets
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets

Qualifications:

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor or Associate degree in Business, marketing or Sales or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years sales and prospecting experience

Language Skills

  • Must be able to read, write and converse in fluent English with clients, co-workers, government representatives and the public at-large

Computer Skills

  • Create, Interpret, edit, and print information using Office Suite software applications
  • Open, create, send, and receive inter and intra-company e-mails
  • Manage contracts and sales in enterprise software, or have used another CRM system to manage sales activity
  • Must possess a basic knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication & division, and ability to calculate geometric and other job specific mathematical calculations

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, handle, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and /or move objects up to 25 pounds. Vision ability includes close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to focus
  • Employees in this position are periodically exposed to outside weather conditions including extreme cold, heat, wind, and rain. Employees are occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. Employees are occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts

  • Valid Driver License with approved acceptable driving record
  • Employee must pass criminal background and drug screening testing at hire

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
