SUMMARY: Under general supervision, operates a glass lathe to fabricate highly complex bore envelope assemblies in accordance with established practices, procedures, and work instructions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Fabricates bore envelope assemblies.
· Cut and gauge bores.
· Fire polish glass and bore material.
· Visually inspect product for defects.
· Sand blast bore.
· Bead Kovar on assemblies.
· Fire polish glass and bore material.
· Monitor equipment for operating parameters and notify supervisor of any problems.
· Perform standard equipment set up and maintenance
· Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.
· Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Maintain inventory levels
· Maintain records relating to yield performance and other information.
· Simple troubleshooting, basic data analysis
· Train other personnel

EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma or general education (GED) and 5 yrs. experience as a glass lathe operator; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees in the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
· Glass Working Certificate, desirable.

· Good interpersonal skills
· Ability to work with technical personnel.
