We’re actively seeking a talented Data Analyst - Dashboards and Visualization to join our Product Analytics team in Newport Beach, CA.
This role is hybrid, based in our Newport Beach headquarters. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office.
As a Data Analyst - Dashboards and Visualization, you’ll move Pacific Life and your career forward by increasing access to data through dashboards and data visualization. You will fill an existing role that sits within the Product Development team in the Consumer Markets Division (CMD). Your colleagues will include Actuaries, Data Analysts, and business analysts with Life Insurance and Annuity product expertise. The team is project based and collaborates to create end to end solutions to support the Product Development team. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, creativity, an eye for design, and proficiency in data visualization tools.

Base Pay Range
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.

How You’ll Help Move Us Forward
- Visualization Design: Create interactive and static visualizations using Tableau to present data in a clear and impactful manner with an emphasis on user experience and design.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data analysts, actuaries, and the Product Development team to understand data requirements and deliver visual solutions that meet business needs.
- Reporting: Develop, maintain, and enhance dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to support decision-making processes.
- Best Practices: Advocate for and implement best practices in data visualization, ensuring accuracy, consistency, streamlined user experience, and clarity in all visual outputs.
- Training and Support: Provide education and training to team members and stakeholders on various dashboards, empowering them to leverage self-service option for their data needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Math, Computer Science, or related field.
- 0-2 years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or related field.
- Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI), programming languages (e.g., Python, R), Cloud based data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake), SQL, Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Excel).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a passion for producing high quality dashboards.
- Experience with UX/UI design principles.
- Background in Insurance or Financial Services.
- Advanced degree in related field.
