We're actively seeking a talented Director, Strategic Partnerships to join our Defined Contribution Lifetime Income team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE to work remotely or in the office.
As a Strategic Partnerhsips Director, you'll play a key role in Pacific Life's growth and long-term success by leading efforts to drive Defined Contribution Lifetime Income (DCLI) strategies in collaboration with key industry intermediaries to enhance our market position. As we build the bridge from the retirement of today (Defined Benefit plans) to the retirement of tomorrow (Defined Contribution / 401(k) plans) this role will be critical in helping to provide greater access to lifetime income for DC plan participants.
How you will make an impact:
Drive and execute against strategy for business development and partnership opportunities to grow our DCLI business and help shape the retirement of tomorrow
Identify and cultivate new strategic partnerships with key players in the DC industry, such as record-keepers, asset managers, technology firms and think tank organizations
Ability to negotiate agreements, build joint strategies and manage ongoing partnerships to enhance business growth and market reach in our retirement efforts
Work with partners to identify new business opportunities and areas for collaboration. Drive joint initiatives that result in revenue growth for both parties. Influence stakeholder buy-in and enterprise support for implementing deals.

Represent Pacific Life in Retirement and DC industry associations and participate / present at conferences to help further promote our brand and source additional opportunities
Spearhead innovative solutions that align with retirement market trends and partner needs. Partner with product managers to influence product design based on market/partner feedback.
Influence across several internal functional teams, including DC Marketing, DC strategy, national markets and thought leadership to evolve our offerings and ensure our solutions reach more plan sponsors and participants
Serve as subject matter expert on DCLI solutions and partnerships. Consult with cross functional teams on content used to tell the Pacific Life story from white papers to speaking engagements and participation in industry conferences
Execute and iterate on the DCLI strategy including product design
Co-create execution of partnership strategies with National markets
Support in achieving stated DCLI revenue / asset targets
Analyze partnership performance metrics. Provide regular reports and insight to the business in order to make data-driven decisions for enhancements and optimization
The experience you will bring:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a similar field
Demonstrated 10-12 years of experience in product development and/or product management in the retirement space, ideally with Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution plans
Extensive knowledge of retirement solutions in the financial services industry, with a preference for Defined Contribution experience
Ability to influence, partner and collaborate with divisional stakeholders and senior members of the firm
Strong desire for collaboration and a demonstrated ability to think creatively
Demonstrated ability to lead and grow team members

Deep knowledge of DC plans, lifetime income product types and competitor landscape
An agile mindset and the ability to demonstrate results in a start-up environment
Compelling presentation skills
Desire to stay up-to-date with DCLI industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes that impact the insurance landscape.
Experience with retirement plan advisors, plan sponsors and plan administrators, asset managers and managed advice providers
Advanced certifications or industry licensing
Base Pay Range:$145,600 - $254,800

The base pay range noted represents the company's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
