General Description :
The Custodial Lead is responsible for supervising day or night shift of cleaning services employees and ensuring high quality custodial, floor, and carpet care in assigned buildings.
Perform cleaning duties in addition to lead duties. Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Assist Campus Service Manager in interviewing and hiring personnel to fill vacancies as they occur. Interview, hire, and supervise student cleaning assistants.
- Trains new employees in current custodial methods, including instruction in safe cleaning practices, proper chemical and equipment use and personal protective equipment.
- Assure all rules and regulations of the University and department are followed by cleaning service staff.
- Schedules shift personnel and work assignments to ensure building are cleaned to establish standards and work orders completed in a timely manner.
- Performs daily inspections of buildings to ensure standard are met.
- Prepares performance evaluations and takes appropriate disciplinary action of the staff as directed / approved by the Manager.
- Documents attendance and manages time sheets.
- Reviews and approves staff supply order sheets.
- Fill in as custodian when short of staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
